yup yup now you got it lol! also if you go with anything equivilent to a gt30r size turbo or bigger your gonna need a dual ful pump....your average high flow walbro fuel pump cant handle those size turbo's on e85 at anything above 24-26 psi.

i hope to see alot of e85 running genesis coupse around

You need roughly 30% more fuel than if you were to use 92 pump gas. Its very well worth it. You can make some seriously aggresive timing maps and get lots o torque outta any engine with E85. You just need to get the right parts to make it happen.

OK, I think you guys may have talked me into it. I've been thinking about it for a while & since I'm already going to a bigger fuel pump & injectors, why not. I'll be running a big turbo & want to get the most out of this vehicle I can. It won't exactly be my DD, so it's not a biggie if the fuel is a little harder to find.
What about the fuel rail, do you think it may need to be changed?
Also, I'll be running stock turbo etc w/only I/E & tune initially, so will it cause a problem to switch a little later down the road?

i doubt the fuel rail may need to be changed....but this questuon will be answered one u add the bigger injectors and fuel pump or pumps lol.....if that isnt enough and im sure it will be for a stock turbo appliction then u would up the fuel pressure by changing the regulator.....then if that isnt enought then u change the rail and get bigger fuel lines but truth be told i thing by that time you would be in the 600hp area haha

for this car on a stock turbo i would say get the usualy drop in walbro fuel pump, then get injectors in the 700cc+ range and you should be good even with monster cams and ever bolt on u can throw at the gen coupe.

hope fully someone can hack a map switching feature into the stock ecu OMG id shoot myself with happyness

^^^bam I wasn't planning on doing this mod on stock turbo, but rather doing it maybe at the same time as the turbo upgrade a year after purchase...LoL...maybe at the same time even...

just to give you some idea on injector size, most the evos are running 1200cc to 1400cc injectors for e85

30r/35r require 1200cc's and a dual fuel pump

35r with crazy boost to a 37r use 1400cc, dual fuel pump, and up the fuel pressure, this is where i think mike from AWD motorsports is at with his 8 sec e85 evo at 8xxhp i believe

i would love to see the type of fuel system a 1000hp-1200hp evo woul dhave to run to run on e85

i would imagine dual 1200cc- dual 1600cc with primary and secondary injector tyoe set up, with a dual tank dual fuel pump set up, with high fuel pressure......damn this sort of set up would drain a 14 gal tank in a few passes

Just something to keep in mind, if you run E85, Hyundai will not cover any repairs caused by running E85.

but i highly doubt this will ever go that far and my car should be warrentied by that time......ive known 1 evo to get his engine warrentied when he messed up on his e85 tune. besides him and me no other evo's across american have blown there engines on e85.

he thought he could be mister bad ass and turn his boost up higher then he was tuned for and higher then his fuel system could compensate for, and he didnt have head studs, so he ended up blowing the head gasket

as for me i tuned my cruise area way too lean to try and see how lean e85 could go before it will fuck up your engine.....in other words i was trying to be a cheap ass and get better mpg with e85 so my afr was at 20:1-19.1:1 usually in between there during cruise but it never knocked and ran like normal. well i made the mistake of not monitoring my ex gas temps and well i guess the excessive lean-ness or lack of fuel made my engine run hot and it took its tole over 9000 miles of daily driving and and fried my cylinder 2 compression ring.

my evo warrenty was long past voided a while before this incident so i just bought a new engine lol. and now am rebuilding the old one.
