Well, where I bought my GC they do offer RS in kits, they look like OEMish products, but you can see it's still not truly OEM.

Didn't ask for the price, but they're 2 ways FM models.

Maybe the dealers state side don't see much demand for them, maybe that's why they don't offer them...

It's possible they're a dealer thing where the dealer shops out the business to a local stereo shop, thus explaining why some dealers do it and some don't. I've heard of that happening with some Nissan dealers "adding leather" to the cloth interior.

They don't make an official one that will definitely work with it, because of the proximity key feature.

You can wire a aftermarket one but, as soon as you step in and press the brake pedal to actually start it, the remote start will shut down the engine (no key).

They have modules to get around this, but that requires you to use the spare proximity fob as the bypass. and the doors won't lock.

I had an Ungo SR9000 installed in my car last week, and then the following day the radio display went off. I went back to the aftermarket dealer who reconnected the radio. Since then my car alarm has been going off. Anyone else heard of this happening? Any way to get around it? Thanks in advance...

Apparently they used the module you're talking about b/c the car doesn't shut off when I step on the brake after using the remote starter. I am down to one FOB b/c the other one is used for the remote starter. The doors either stay locked or unlocked after initializing the system, depending on if I unlock the doors before using the remote starter.

Sorry, Robio, apparently I wasn't subscribed to my own thread!

It's an Audiovox A1BTX Pursuit Series Model PRO-9056N. The guy who installed is Howard and he came to MA, USA from RI, USA. You can call him at 401.255.5752 and hopefully he can help you find someone in your area.

If your car does not shut off when you apply the brakes, the installer did not put in the system correctly. You should take it back and ask him to hook it up to the brake. The motor should shut down if the hood is opened, the brake pedal depressed, or if the car is over revved. Some alarms the motor will shut down if the alarm is triggered...but not all. The shut down is a safety feature and it should be connected.
