No mention of one for the GC though.
I wonder if that's Canada only? I've had a '07 Veracurz owner & a '08 SantaFe owner both inquire. When I had my parts mgr check into it, he said it wasn't available & they would have to go aftermarket.

Just got off the line with the dealer who expects the necessary module will be available sometime close to 9/25/2009.
I'll post an update as I know more.

Well another option (if you have a garage) is just to get a space heater or climate control for it. It will help reduce some of the thermal stress and cycling that would otherwise happen in the winter.

How much is hyundai asking for the RS on other models?
Should give us a good general price range on the GC.

So, it's done now. It is an after-market remote starter and not an OEM part.

While it took the guy 5 hours, it works 100% of the time (he said his buddy called him, his friend did 3 remote starters for GC, and it only worked ~30% of the time.) He had to trick the FOB receptacle to think there was a key in there when the remote start command comes, and I can't unlock the doors while the car is running from a remote start without either using the actual key or turning off the remote start first.

It works -- and it can be done -- that's all that matters.

No clue what the cost was, but considering it was ~$600-$800 for an aftermarket remote starter on a 2009 Genesis sedan, that's probably a good place to start.

Glad you got it done, even if it is aftermarket, since you really wanted it. I've had to send several people to aftermarket stereoshop for remote starts, so you are not alone. Fortunately, it doesn't get cold enough or stay cold enough to warrant a remote start in my neck of the woods.

I am in Ottawa, Canada. Can you tell me where you got the work done?

Thx

Hyunda has never offerd RS on any of it vehicle and they have never offered it as a kit either. I have been a Hyundai Tech for the last 5 years and my close friend has been a hyunda Tech for over 10 years
