Thanks for putting this thread together. It is great to have easy access to this information.

Bump for new TSB.

Can I just say that I feel like it's an embarassment that there have been enough Hyundai "Technicians" do this that they have had to generate a TSB about it. Very sad indeed.

I guess Hyundai techs aren't used to working on "sports cars"

Sounds like the 19" wheels are real sensitive.

Bumpity bump bump for 2 new TSBs... one for a bumper retaining clip change (later production dates only), and a TCM update that deals with the way trans behaves in 3rd gear in sport shift mode (automatics only).

Before you ask, I don't know if this is the long-awaited TCM update that solves whatever problem people are having regarding shift quality or ESC interference or whatever. I haven't ever experienced a problem with my auto trans. at all. Apparently some people have experienced an unwanted automatic downshift when getting on the throttle hard in third gear in sport shift mode.

However, I was going to update my ECU anyway today. Hooked my car up to the GDS, started the update procedure, and... wait... what's this? The GDS won't even LIST this update, like it doesn't even exist. It shows ZERO update events under "ECU Upgrades". After asking a couple of the guys in the shop, we all came to the conclusion that we just haven't received the update for the GDS that includes this information. I did the WebUpdate on the GDS, but apparently it's a CD that will contain this info. Being as the TSB JUST came out today, the actualy update apparently hasn't filtered down yet.

So... please don't go storming into your local dealer tomorrow with this TSB in hand asking for the update to be performed. They may not have it yet either, and they will look at you like you've lost your mind until they DO get the actual update. As soon as I can get it to work on my car, I'll let you know. If anybody else gets it before then, let us know how it goes. I am really curious to see if this makes any other difference in the way the car drives besides the 3rd gear issue.

Thanks the retainer clip thing and hole size TSB I need to get done. I noticed the back left side of the rear bumper is off by like an 1/8 inch it's barley noticeable but to us car guys its like fire every time you wash your car.

So what exactly does the new clip do? Does it decrease the panel gap? Do you just walk into a dealership and mention the TSB?

I had this done to my car before the TSB, but the rear bumper cover tends to losen up where it connnects to the body behind the rear tire inside the fender well. I noticed this when I was detailing it and had the service dept change the clips during my first oil change. I'm glad there is a TSB on it now cuz it was lame the way they had it at first.

I was kind of under the impression that the new clips were designed to go with the new rear bumper cover part number only. Perhaps I'm wrong about that.

My rear bumper cover IS loose on the driver's side and I can see which retainer clip inside the wheel well is the offending one. The place where the bumper cover, quarter panel and tail light come together has a gap in in that goes away if I push on it. Maybe I'll have them take a look at it.

I stand corrected. After taking a second look at the diagrams, I went out and looked at my vehicle and the parts replaced on mine are not the items referred to in this TSB. I should have looked closer at the diagrams the first time I viewed them.
