Brand new 2012 Genesis 3.8. In NJ where we do NOT pump our own gas. Attendent has to hold the nozzle into the tank or it pops out. Anyone else have this issue?

I have a 2011 Genesis 4.6 fully loaded. I have the exact same problem. I have a hard time keeping the gas nozzle in for more than 20 seconds without holding it in. Bad design

I have not heard about this but sounds dangerous. Did either of you contact NTSB?

For a decade they've been adding an expansion sleeve (like a bendable soda straw has) to the filler neck in an attempt to trap the fumes from going wastfully into the ambient air. I doubt they did much to help because a good seal was rarely made and the sleeves wear out.
Now new pumping equipment is showing up (2012 on) where if you relax the pressure enough to allow the seal to unseat too much it'll stop pumping fuel. A pain in the... but I do like trees, so... |
