Default Check engine light

I did the radiator hose tb bypass today before i drove to work, it was pretty easy literally took 2 min. when i got in my car to go home, i turned on the car and the check engine light came on, i don't know if it was because of the hose bypass( I doubt it is) it might because of the actuator adjustment that i did like 3 or 4 weeks ago, the car is pretty much stock( been trying to buy this house lately) so ya basically i want to try and get an obd scanner so i can tell what the problem is when ever i get a cel, so..... does anybody know a good obd scanner that i can maybe buy locally like in a walmart, autozone, checkers, pepboys and so on. not looking for anything too advanced like reading rpms or 0-60 speeds, just want something to check problems- thanks

Like you said check auto zone, last i check they had a nice one that was able to read and clear codes, if not auto zone try advance auto parts.

AutoZone should read the codes for free. I would clear the code by disconnecting the battery and see if it comes back before getting too concerned.

DTC P0076

DTC P0076

Don't know where the VDI solenoid is but it has to do with the intake. Possible it is unplugged.

Joshua, I was thinking about doing this radiator throttle body hose bypass mod & forgot the details of routing etc. Could you post a pic of yours completed to refresh my memory.

Thanks in advance.

The 3/8" hose comes out of the front of the engine and then 90s over towards the TB. It goes to a black plastic piece with two hoses attached. Plug that line or loop one of the hoses over so one hose connects to both ports.

I just removed them all and uses a short piece of hose to plug the port coming out of the head.
