The radio in this thing is a POS. Mine did this and I took it to the dealership who blamed it on my phone...yeah, they sure did. After making numerous attempts to get it fixed, I put the GM in the car and took him for a ride. We did not get out of the dealer PARKING LOT when it failed. It failed three more times in about 2 miles. Back to the dealership and he still insisted it was the phone. So, he gave me another Coupe to drive for a week or so while the looked at my car. That car NEVER have ANY radio failures. Called them and told them the deal...they STILL wanted to blame it on my phone. They updated the radio, still no worky. Replaced the radio and has been trouble free. I wonder if it was still my phone?? ![]() As for the XM radio...I have been in 1/2 mile long tunnels and still get signals. |

I have the same problems since day 2. Fisrt day was ok never failed once, come the day after, popping galore.!!
I used to have the BT on with my phone, but the radio resets so randomly that people started to get annoyed when the calls got dropped from the radio resetting that I started to get asked to not used the BT in the car....nice. I stopped using the BT, but the thing still pops more that a bowl of Rice Krispies on crack, and I will get this fixed next time I go to the dealer, I hope...

yea... mine sucks too... I've already had the head unit replace once because my BT didnt work at all(which they blamed on my phone and took 2 months of convincing to fix). I use a USB thumb drive with my music on it and it fails almost daily... everything else seems to work fine. There isnt any speaker popping, it just stops playing my music and says "NO SONG" and turns on the radio. Other than that the only thing that sucks about the radio/BT for me is that I have my iPhone's BT volume setting turned all the way up and I still have to turn the car stereo all the way up to hear when im on the highway. If anyone knows how to fix any of that let me know, or if you have any other suggestions let me know. |

I wonder how some dealers get away with that. Just remember that radios are only covered 36 months/36,00 miles.

11K miles and no probs with the stereo or ipod cutting out. All good so far in that dept thankfully. XM occasionally but use it rarely. Never use bluetooth.

I had the same problem and the radio had to be replaced. It's under warranty. My dealer told me it was the first time they had seen this but my sister has a Tuscon and the same thing happened to her. Take it to your dealer it's covered!

My radio popped when I turned off my parking lamps the other day ... just turned the dial and crackled like you are all describing. That is the only time it has ever happened. But, my bluetooth is also very quiet and also 9/10 times I answer a call, if it is the first call since driving that iteration, it answers but neither I nor the caller can hear each other - but only the first call.

Pumcy, common problem. most of us seem to experience it with a connection to cold weather. See the other forum for a very long thread of people with the same issue. I have it and will be bringing to dealer at my first chance. A good suggestion in the other thread (since there is no predicting it and therefore it's hard to document to dealer) is to print the thread to show the how many owners are reporting it. Good luck and let us know how well your dealer honors your warranty. |
