Anyone ever heard of having to set your temp to 71 to get outside air? We can't figure out if we are doing something wrong to get vented air or if there is something wrong with the car. We just seem to get air conditioned air, not outside air. We aren't even sure if we are suppose to get just vented air. The directions aren't real clear. It sounds like you can have outside air but it will be whatever temp you have the car set at. That isn't really vented air like I'm trying to get.

See if there is a fresh air setting or operation in the manual. Vented air will just be ambient temp I'm guessing, but fresh air mode or button should bring air in from outside. I would have to sit in car to confirm, I'll check tomorrow.

I don't believe there is an option to just get vent air on the sedan. The A/C compressor is always engaged and, even if you set the climate control of "off" the vent air still comes in the cabin cold or warm, depending on the last set climate control temperature.
Pretty much the only way I've found to get outside air in without going through the A/C is to open up the windows and sunroof.

I'm bringing my car in tomorrow and getting it checked out. There might be something wrong. I talked to the service manager and he started a Genesis and was able to get outside air. It could have been a coupe, but I would think that in that area they would both work the same.

It takes a good 2-3 minutes of driving for the A/C compressor to get to operating temps, if he just started the car and didn't drive it around he didn't get air to bypass the A/C compressor, it just wasn't working yet.

I forgot (busy as hell today) to go get some sit down time in a sedan to check the A/C operation out 4U Colorado...Sorry..
But, I can tell you that I'm pretty sure the A/C system in the sedan & coupe are very different. My feeling is that the A/C like most stuff in the coupe is more along the line of your run of the mill Hyundai vehicle, but the sedan is more upscale in everything, including A/C. The sedan may not be able to get "fresh" air through the ventalation. Only air the same temp as the ambient air outside. Considering the A/C compressor never really shuts off, I would not be suprised...LoL

Just got back from taking in my Genesis and found out how to get outside air. Yes, the compressor is on all the time, but if you turn the A/C off and set the temp as low as it goes, "LOW" comes on. When it is in this position you will get outside air. They even proved it by using a temp gauge. The manual doesn't tell you this.
