So, as requested here are some images from the repairs done on my vehicle. In the end it was 6,300$ and took six weeks after I had to wait for parts.
Sine the car is black most of the damage was only visible under the body but here is an example of how the uni body buckled after I got hit in the rear - directly in the rear by an Escape: ![]() With the bumper removed and most of the work done - this happens to be the new sheet metal piece behind the bumper they tacked on to line everything up: ![]() Close up on the passenger side: ![]() Inside the trunk on the passenger side - replaced part of the frame (although its not really load bearing its just sheet metal) and coated it with sealant: ![]() Other side of the trunk inside: ![]() After the car was pulled back out on the frame rack this was the buckled uni body before it got body filler to make it perfect and then was repainted - looks good: ![]() Behind the sheet metal: ![]() In the end no functional components were damaged, just sheet metal and plastics. So the car still drives the same. There are still a few things I am not happy with so it is going back to the shop this weekend. In a nut shell - it looks like new. What are you still having issues with? Where are you at in Cleveland, and who did the repair work?

I am in Aurora in SE Cleveland. I will leave out who did for now - out of fear they will mess it up more since they have been paid. I will say I was sent there by my dealer because they do not have a body shop and this was the only way to maintain my warranty. They basically messed it up all over - busted one tail light, nicked my driver's side front quarter panel, tore my trunk liner, scratched all my windows, scratched the paint everywhere including what they just finished painting, ruined a window gasket, got water and glue on my back seats, scratched one of my trunk struts, covered my engine in dust, mounted the bumper and exhaust crooked by half an inch, and they did not clean it. They fixed most of that the second time around, but, there is still some stuff I will just have to live with. I am pursuing a diminished value claim with the insurance company because I truly deserve it. Now there is a bulge in the back bumper from a wire that was routed in the wrong place and the conduit is making it bulge out. It is going back this week some time for its third trip there. I a pretty sure they fixed my car at a loss after the amount of rework they had to do.

No sweat - its just a car. I will probably try to get a Raptor F-150 within a year as my other fun car since they will be making it available with a 383. That or a cobra stang because the new one has ridic power - I intended my Gen Coupe to be a fun DD anyways - which I am sure it will do just fine. I am mentioning Ford because, although I do not fancy them too much, my g/f works there part time so ... discount.
As much as I love factory turbo ... factory s/c is much easier to get more power from. Pulley swap for the win. But I will never get rid of my Gen Coupe ... I got 34 mpg highway last weekend ha ha. |
