Well, I've decided to paint it orange. The guy who's going to paint it asked if I got get the paint codes for some of the orange GCs that I was showing him. It's hard to tell from photos, but the Orange Crush Tiburon seems a bit more on the bronze side for my taste. I'd prefer the brighter orange. Maybe I'll just have to leave it up to the painter to get as close as he can. Quote was $6000.

That's a reasonable price for a Quality paint job. You are correct..the Tib Orange Crush does have a bronze like tint to it, the color is almost like a candy. If you want a bright clean orange, look into the color Hugger Orange.

Tufast (or anyone)-- could you compare Hugger Orange with the 'Grabber Orange' of some of the recent Mustangs? Some photos of the Mustang look perfect, but when it's in a lot of sunlight, the color seems very yellowish. I saw a Mustang GO owner posting that same remark on a Mustang forum. Does Hugger Orange show up yellowish in sunlight? Or is that going to happen with any shade of orange? (I'm in a very rural area--don't see orange cars around here)

Also, I'm night finding Grabber Orange on anything later than the 60s or early 70s. Has it been used on anything recently?

I believe Grabber Orange was originally coined for the Ford Maverick "Grabber Edition" from the early '70s

Here's some pics of one:

I believe Hugger orange was originally coined for the '69 Camaro RS, SS & Yenko editions

Here's a pic:

Mandarin orange looks good. Wish I could see it on an entire car, though. I guess I would say I'm leaning to Hugger.

:: 1969 Chevrolet Nova SS - Flemings Ultimate Garage

The car looks completely different in the video than it does in the still photos.

$6000.00 ????? You are being taken to the Cleaners !!

Wait, is the Vaseline included?

I mean think about it. You should be paying in the ball mark of 2500.00 to 3500.00 No more. this is a brand new car no damage and no rust everything comes apart nicely no extra work no surprises !

I know i have stuff painted all the time. My next project it my 04 Bonneville this is a boat compared to the GC and to chance it completely its 4000.00 (inside the doors etc)

Shop around some more, and I think what you are looking for is more of a Sun Burnt color. check House of kolor
/http://www.houseofkolor.com/speedshapes/speedshapes_shimrin.jsp#

This was a quick Chop i did of my car long ago, What I originally wanted

This is what I am going to do likely in the next 3 weeks.
