I took a slightly different route with good outcome. Instead of replacing the stock silencer w metal pipe I went to home depot to the pvc piping section and used a 2" pvc straight connector which will not soak up the turbo heat as much. I will get a lazer temp gauge to measure differences of temp after driving.

I used 2" pvc connector from home depot, less heat soak.

7ism td05 turbo, 7ism equal length tubular manifold, 7ism FMIC and hard pipes, 7ism catless race downpipe, Tial 50mm BOV, Poweraxel flash module (7500rpm redline) and custom tune, Grimmspeed BCS, Grimmspeed manifold spacer, Grimmspeed 160 degree thermo, water weter replacement, Agency Power 3" exhaust, Electric cutout, Rc750cc injectors, autometer boost gauge, HID fog lights, tinted fogs and tail lights, wieght reduction stg1.

If any one wants a 3" SS pipe I could cut some up and ship them for ~$10 each.

I'm confused. The OD is the important size. Is the OD supposed to be 3" or 2.75"?

3" OD is tight but works perfectly. 2.75" is a lot easier to insert but you are loosing 1/4" diameter.
