Man that thing is small... Hard pipes and a bigger FMIC will be first on the to-do list for me.

Sure its not the best, but it looks pretty good to me. Fairly thick for a stock i/c, and at least its front-mounted. Sure, you could get some gains with a bigger one, but I wouldn't do it as a first mod, as I highly doubt that its one of the biggest restrictions with the stock setup. You're likely much better off spending your money on a quality turboback exhaust system, as its not only one of the most essential mods on a turbo car, it also affects your looks and sound a good bit, and therefore will have much more of an impact on your overall enjoyment of the car, so its not an area where you want to scrimp. Get an intake or at least a cone filter while you're at it, and save a big FMIC and piping kit for a little bit later on.

Wow. That is definitely a baby.

Here is the factory 2009 Lancer Ralliart FMIC vs the Buschur Racing Upgrade we offer for it. Hilarious to say the least...

+1....
on the FMIC being a waste unless you're upgrading the turbo at the same time. The factory exaust is very restrictive & would be a much better mod IMO. Intake, exaust, & tune should be done 1st & then see what you've got.

By the way Jrod, that factory Lancer intercooler makes the factory Genesis one look small.

I hope the size was not determined by the room available. Smaller than a pack of smokes does not take up much room at all unless they had to squeeze it in. I have not seen a 2.0 in person so I have not checked out the room up there.

I do not agree with the statement of the FMIC being a waste.

I do agree with doing the intake, exhaust and tune first and then the FMIC after you've done that.

I would not upgrade the FMIC first but I do not see a problem with running an upgraded FMIC with the stock turbo. MANY Evo 8, 9 and X owners run FMIC upgrades with the factory turbo. At one time there were 5 of us here running our Race FMIC with the stock turbo with EXCELLENT results due to the upgrade.

We will break everything down in stages / upgrade sequence in the best path we find to follow.

I bet we see some good gains off a FMIC upgrade though. I know we sure did on the 8/9 and X.

I agree with Jrod.

The FMIC upgrade is very worth while. I know on my Evo X i gained about 10hp replacing the stock unit. I had intake, exhaust, piping kit etc, but with stock turbo still.

We're still testing some different versions on the 2.0T to see which will have the best benefit.

Maybe I was harsh saying FMIC upgrade is a waste. But, from everything I've gathered thus far about turbos, I wasn't planning on doing that mod until right B4 I upgraded the Turbo. There are too many other things of priority that will come 1st & I think will give me more for my money. Of course I'll be waiting on Buschur's staged upgrades, since is a very likely course that I will take. If testing shows that this upgrade will be more beneficial at an earlier time & is part of pkg, then I'll be doing it then.
