Damn that sucks, does this mean if you decide to purchase that you will be taxed again on balance amount to refinance?

As I understood it you should only be taxed on the part you are "financing". Meaning the total cost of the vehicle minus the residual amount. Taxes should be applied to the residual after the completion of the lease if and when it is sold. I am reciting this from memory so I may be mistaken. This is what I was told by the sales manager

Do you guys think it will be cheaper if i buy out the gc at the end of the lease? i should only owe about 14,000 at max on the vehicle. But yeah Aaron was the younger guy, real polite and cool, no hassle with him... probably b/c i was ready to take my money and walk out.

I was going to buy out balance on mine had I leased it, would of been cheaper...LoL

dic51 sent me a pm regarding his lease & paying taxes as follows:

"No. Me and the accountant looked and there isn't anywhere on there for it. It also may have to do with the fact that it was registered in ALwhile being bought in GA. Why do you ask?"

So it looks like the reason he didn't pay taxes was due to purchase in one state (GA) & live in another (AL).

I believe that the state the vehicle is registered in has to bill you for the taxes. My fiancee bought a truck in AL and they didn't charge her tax on it. The dealer told her that the state it is to be registered in has to "bill" her for it. I assumed this was the case for me but, like her, I never recieved a bill. The accountant believes that they are including the taxes in my monthly payment

Freehold Hyundai is one of the worst dealerships you can buy your Hyundai from. Old school 4 square selling tactics. I would only buy from there if you knew exactly what you were doing when negotiating or you will be taken for a ride..
