Defamation, Libel and Slander Law
Posting a personal factual experience is protected by the First Amendment.. It's only defamation if Usagi posted information that was false and then only the person posting would be held accountable, not the forum itself. At least this is my limited understanding..

Hmm I'm not sure I know that college gossip social site was getting sued by people and closed a couple weeks ago because people would go on there and tell stories about slutty girls and things. So I'm not sure.

Even though the information regarding our reviews could be construed as relevant, the college gossip site was a personal assault on one's character. Where as, this information on here is not directed toward one individual, but a business & their practices. Therefore, it would be a little harder to fault someone for giving a review of service. For that matter, most companies that produce products, merchandise them, or provide a service, will have a place you can visit via the internet to give a review on their product &/or service. The BBB reviews business practices as well & the information they develop can be gathered to help someone determine if they want to use a particular business for their needs. I can see where you're coming from LC, but I feel that it would be a much more difficult task to find an individual, or even more so, this site at fault for sharing information regarding business practices if they are true & can't be proven otherwise.

I don't think this dealership would give a damn, anyways. I called up the Sales manager yesterday to ask why I wasn't even dealt with, and he said "If I put a $20k mark-up on the car, you'd just walk out. That's what we did with your offer" then he hung up. Simply amazing that anyone still buys from these douches

Wow, that's really going to bring customers in. I hope that hyundai dealerships realize by the time I'm ready to buy that marking-up these cars is not going to sell them!

The audacity! Hyundai needs to hear about these 1/2 ass dealers. Because, they are never going to be able to move upscale w/the Genesis line treating customers like that. It's just not professional.

That is a real shame... if Hyundai is going to change their image, this type of behavior should not be tolerated.

Not sure if this would do any good but Hyundai's Corporate Contact info:

Hyundai Motor America
P.O. Box 20850
Fountain Valley, CA 92728-0850

I doubt it'll get anywhere. But I went on to Hyundai Think Tank and suggested a dealer reviews thread. Hopefully they'll put one up so I can get at least some semi-official eyes on it. I'm mostly worried about the fact that douche-dealers like this make All of Hyundai look bad. Most of the people in ABQ aren't going to be willing to travel to other dealers like I am. Larry H. Miller Hyundai owns both of the dealers in town, so they feel like they can do whatever they want and, unfortunately, they pretty much can. They need a corporate boot up their ass to straighten up methinks.

BTW Sabbasaun, I suggested your template for the dealer review thread on think-tank. Just wanted to let you know.

Yeah if this can get on the Think Tank then I believe that is big step to getting some of these dealerships in line. One of the big issues with brought up in the last session with John Krafcik was the user experience. People jumping ship from BMW and Mercedes expect a certain amount of pampering and general good customer service... and if a person can't even get a good buying experience, then people are less likely to buy. I dunno, it's in Hyundai's best interest to not allow this type of crap.. hopefully it changes..

I just got off the phone with Hyundai Corporate, well, a call center guy, lol. I told him the story, and how I was dissappointed that they were acting like this in Hyundai's name and screwing any semblance of a good image at least in this area. He basically told me that Hyundai Corporate can make suggestions to dealers, but they operate under their own rules. The report is going up to Corporate office, but I don't expect a whole lot to come from it. The guy that I talked to suggested going the BBB route but, honestly, I don't want to go through that much hassle.
