Question...won't a BBK mess w/ the ESC/ABS? Especially if I were to upgrade my Grand Touring's rotors, the increase in braking force if/when ESC activates could create problems, right? What about warranty interference?

Quote:
A BBK nor a brake upgrade (consisting of pads, lines, rotors and fluid) will effect the efficiency of the ABS or the ESC. Both of these systems are electronically controlled by the ECU as it measures what the mechanical parts are doing (in this case the brakes) and reacts accordingly. The ABS measures the speed of your car as it slows down and rapidly engages/disengages the brakes when you slam on them to ensure the car slows down as efficiently as possible. None of the brake products above disable/iinterfere with the ABS' ability to communicate with the braking system. The ESC measures the car's traction cuts power accordingly, not apply brakes. (i.e. if you punch the gas, the car won't translate that to the wheels if it sees that the car is losing traction) Rotors and pads are all considered 'wear' items in your warranty, replacing them doesn't void the warranty of your vehicle because they aren't covered. Brake lines and calipers don't void the warranty of the your overall car, just of the parts your replacing. Also, a dealer has to prove that any modification you make to the vehicle is the cause of failure. Ironically, these are the two systems that we disabled on both cars. It's hard to corner quickly and brake efficiently when car decides to cut power and brake for you. |

Stoptech and most other manufacturers build their BBKs to fit under the stock rims.

WoW......noone...
....StopTech makes some of the top of the line brake products available today ......Well, I guess I can count them out on making 2pc rotors for my factory Brembos, considering the weak response for a tester for their products in this thread.....
