Default Buschur Racing begins R&D work on the "Deuce Coupe".

Yesterday morning as soon as I got to the shop we strapped the car down on the dyno to get a good baseline pull on the car before we did anything.

Stock numbers on our load bearing Mustang AWD 500 series dyno with a 4th gear pull came out as 175whp / 189ft trq. Many of you may not know but our dyno typically reads lower than many other dyno's you will find. Reason being is our dyno is a load bearing dyno which actually loads the car by weight to simulate real world driving conditions and is not just an empty roller spinning for a number. The Mustang dyno reads wheel horsepower.

As you will see the boost hit was a maximum of 14psi and @ 5200rpm and air/fuels that continually went richer as the pull went on.

With the base pull out of the way we decided the first mod would be a manual boost controller as it was fast and easy to install. The most boost seen on the dyno computer when monitoring it was 16.3. We couldnt even hit 17.5 before the car went into limp mode.

The gains with just a slight boost increase was pretty impressive.

When looking at the graph you will see that the max numbers achieved were only 7whp and 22ft. trq greater than stock but when you start to dissect the graph a bit more you start to see larger gains in there.

Such as at 3100 on up to 3700 there were gains in there as much as 22whp and 33ft trq.

For a more precise breakdown here is the dynosheet printed out and you will see the differences between stock and with just a MBC added.

We were able to get some log information from the car as well which I will prepare and post tomorrow.

Dyno pull video.

*ON STREETFIRE*

With the base pull out of the way we pulled the car off of the dyno to begin working on some products.

The first item on the agenda was an air intake. Here is the prototype intake kit. It does allow the stock scoop to be retained while providing fresh air straight to the filter while the filter being protected from extra engine bay heat by our filter shield. We have not been able to get the car back on the dyno as this week has been ridiculously busy here at the shop so far with no sign of letting up. We're still hammering on the Coupe though.

The next items that we started to look at was the intercooler and the intercooler piping. We are currently working on the prototype products for these and hope to have something to show you guys shortly. Here is what we found when we removed the tiny factory FMIC.

The third mod. You can never go wrong with a little vinyl horsepower!

As we leave the shop here tonight..... this is how she looks.

STAY TUNED!

Sick. BR does great things for the DSM world, can't wait to see what they can pull out of this car.

Thanks JRod for this info, relatively decent gains by just adding a cheap MBC. But IMO you gota work on that exhaust, it's just TOOO quiet for my tastes!

I gotta give Jrod some props, if that was my car I would have second thoughts about tearing it apart so soon after getting it.. I would want to drive it around for a bit first... but he's a trooper sacrificing for the greater good.

Thats why I want one of these cars so I can learn how to rip it apart and make changes to it. Thats something I wouldn't do to my BMW.
